The Open 4-H Nutrition & Food Show registration is now open. The event will take place on Saturday, February 24^th at the 4-H Education Center at Auerfarm. This year’s program includes an International Food entry competition, workshops, milkshake contest and grilled cheese competition. NEW this year, the top senior team from milkshake and grilled cheese will qualify for selection as the UConn 4-H team to compete in September at The Big E.

Registration is due FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 16^th 

 

UConn 4-H Sheep Day will be held on February 3rd at the UConn Storrs campus from 9am to 3pm.  Activities include sheep judging and selection, hands on activities with Veterinarians, halter making and quiz bowl.  Registration is $15 per attendee.  Youth must have a chaperon on the premises.  If parent/guardian will not be accompanying a youth participant the adult accompanying each youth must have a 4-H member health form in their possession signed by the youth’s parent/guardian.

UConn State 4-H Horse Workshop Day will be held on January 27, 2024 at the Middlesex County Extension Center in Haddam.  Come participate in a variety of horse-related workshops and activities.

Dairy Judging 101 will be held on January 27th from 9am to 4pm at the UConn Storrs campus.  This workshop will help participants improve their judging skills and gain skill and confidence in your reasons.  Open to all.  Each 4-H member attending must be accompanied by a parent or approved volunteer as their chaperon for the day.

The New England 4-H Dog Clinic will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the Tolland Agricultural Center, Route 30, Vernon, CT.  The event is open to all registered 4-H dog project members 7-18 years of age and their registered 4-H project dog.  Registered 4-H members from any New England state may attend.

UConn 4-H Citizenship Day is scheduled for Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 311 Capital Avenue in Hartford.  The event is open to all youth 12-18 years old.  Adults are welcome to attend to assist throughout the day with needed volunteer tasks.

Registration is $15 until 4/12/22.  After that date the fee goes up to $20.  The registration fee includes lunch and program materials.

What does “We the People” mean in today’s political climate?  We will explore this in more detail along with ways as 4-Hers we can be the type of citizens the world needs right now.   Come with us as we immerse ourselves in a day of civic exploration through discussion and hands-on learning.

UConn 4-H Jr. STEM Day will be held on Saturday, April 30th at the Middlesex County Extension Center in Haddam, CT.  The conference is open to 4-H and non-4-H youth ages 7-12.  The registration deadline is April 15th.
