The purpose of the UConn 4-H Teen Council is to educate and enhance 4-H in Connecticut. We achieve this by doing Statewide leadership activities, civic engagement, and facilitating programs that occur at the Club, County, and State levels.

Officer Bios

Rania A.

Rania Ahmad

Hey everyone! My name is Rania A., and I am serving as Vice President for this year’s Uconn 4-H Teen Council! I have been a member of Fairfield County 4-H for 10 years with my project being animal science. I have been involved in 4-H since I was a newborn, following my sister around, and have absolutely immersed myself in everything 4-H related since then. I am so excited to grow 4-H throughout Connecticut this year!

Hey everyone, my name is Olivia H., and I am serving as this years’ President of the UConn 4-H Teen Council! I have been a member of Litchfield County 4-H for the past 9 years, with my projects being in dogs and horticulture. I absolutely love 4-H and I hope to share my passion with all of you. Last year I served as the Co-President of the Council, and I am so excited to have the opportunity to serve UConn 4-H for another year!

Hey y’all! My name is Matthew S., and I am serving this upcoming year as the Publicity Director for the UConn 4-H Teen Council! I am from Litchfield County 4-H and have served as County President, I have also had the opportunity to serve as the State President for CT FFA. Over my past five years in 4-H I have learned much about the different opportunities, experiences, and areas within 4-H. My biggest hope this year is to share all the advice I have learned to other 4-H-ers so they have the best possible experience. I hope to see you all around!

Hey everyone!  My name is Caitlin P., and I am serving as Treasurer for this year’s UConn 4-H Teen Council!  I have been a member of Hartford County 4-H for the past eight years with this being my ninth year.  My main project is dairy goats but am also a part of a homemaking club.  4-H has been the biggest part of my life since I can remember and have learned so much from it.  I hope to be able to share the wonderful experience with y’all. 🙂

Hi everyone! My name is Harper T., and I am excited to serve as the 2021-2022 Secretary for the UConn 4-H Teen Council. I have been involved in textile arts, leadership, and community service projects as part of Fairfield County 4-H for the past five years. I joined the Teen Council because I wanted to expand the amazing leadership and enrichment opportunities, I have been offered to more youth in 4-H. I love how we can all come together from different counties and walks of life to “make the best better.”

Interested in joining the UConn 4-H Teen Council? Be on the lookout for the application to go live over the summer, applications are due to your county office during the month of August. Be sure to check with your county educator for your specific due date. Officer teams are elected in the month of October and serve for a year.
