UConn 4-H Dairy and Beef Day

Held in each year at the University of Connecticut, Storrs campus in March. The program is designed for enrolled UConn 4-H’ers ages 7-18, parents and 4-H leaders, and is also open to Out-of-State & unenrolled 4-H members. Examples of workshops include vaccinations, meats, udder evaluation, ice cream testing, feeds & feeding, judging and more!

Register by March 13th to ensure you get a T-Shirt, sessions fill quickly. Schedule subject to change. All participants, both youth and chaperones, must pay a non-refundable $15 each. DO NOT bring a cow. Each youth MUST have a chaperone to supervise & support them. If a parent/guardian will not be accompanying a youth, the chaperone must have a 4-H Member Health Form in their possession signed by the youth’s parent/guardian. Participants should bring a nut-free lunch.

Each 4-H club should bring/donate a raffle item, please reach out if you have questions regarding this.

  • 9:30 to 9:40 am Welcome
  • 9:45 to 10:15 am Rotation 1*
  • 10:20 to 10:50 am Rotation 2 *
  • 10:55 to 11:25 am Rotation 3 *
  • 11:30 to 12:00 pm Rotation 4 *
  • 12:00 – 1:00 pm lunch
  • *Lunch will be on your own. We suggest bringing lunch with you due to limited time during lunch break.
  • 1:00- 3:00 pm Afternoon sessions, split by species.

Rotations: will be split up by juniors and seniors and adults, and each group will start at different stations.
